Description
This route partly follows the path once taken by schoolchildren from the Aegiali area to reach Chora. The well-marked trail starts at the eastern entrance of Chora and climbs the slopes of Profitis Ilias mountain through a barren, stony landscape dotted with small thorny bushes.
About halfway along, you’ll notice the Trapezopetri, a striking table-shaped rock formation on the ridge. A fork leads to the summit and its chapel of Profitis Ilias. At Xenodochio, the route connects to the Palia Strata trail and the path towards Katapola.
