Description
A circular route linking Aegiali, Lagkada, Tholaria and Ormos to the nearest historical sites. Starting above the village of Ormos Aegialis, a paved path climbs east through olive groves.
Reaching Lagkada, the route skirts the north of the village along a deep canyon, descends to the stream bed, then climbs to the deserted, silent village of Stroumbos. Forks lead to the green site of Dry, the monastic complex of Panagia Epanochoriani (built on an ancient sanctuary), and the “Astrateos” chapel with its Hellenistic tower remains. The trail continues to Tholaria, facing the hill of Vigla where the acropolis of ancient Aegiali once stood, before finishing on the quiet beach of Fokiotrypa.
